From the recording Bread Blessed and Broken

The bridge and last verse were written much earlier while stationed at Peace AFB in NH. I wrote this as part of an Easter Service that was sung by the Church Youth Choir-Sounds of Peace. Part narrative and part singing of the scripture. Nice presentation...wish I still had a copy.
The verses were added this year (2020) following a recent sermon by Pastor Andrew Smith at Heavenly Host Lutheran Church in Cookeville, TN. The sermon made me think of the bridge theme and here is the result.

Lyrics

Feed My Sheep

Before the rooster crows, Before this night is thru
Three times it will be said, This man I never knew –
This man I never knew

In the temple yard, a servant girl decries
She said” this man’s His friend”, O girl, you know you lie,
Jesus I did deny

Simeon, son of Jonas, Do you love me
Yea Lord I do, Go Feed my sheep, Go Feed my Sheep

Sitting by the fire, another passing by
She said he’s one of them, this too I did deride
Jesus I did deny

Simeon, son of Jonas, Do you love me
Yea Lord I do, Go Feed my sheep, Go Feed my Sheep

By the Temples gate, bystanders at my side
She said that I knew Him, Enough! I said and cried
Jesus I did deny

Simeon, son of Jonas, Do you love me
Yea Lord I do, Go Feed my sheep, Go Feed my Sheep

For I am the Good Shepherd, and I have died for my sheep
Simon you must feed them, go feed my sheep
You know that I love you
Go feed my sheep
You know that I love you
Go feed my sheep
